Leza has dedicated over 20 years to Fire and Emergency Medical Services, primarily in 911 emergency response. She has served both as a career 911 provider and as a Life Member of Lake Monticello Volunteer Fire & Rescue, where she has volunteered for a decade with unwavering commitment.
Leza has been part of UVA Health since 2011, teaching in various capacities. Most recently, she worked full-time at UVA Health’s Life Support Learning Center, where she continues teaching part-time alongside her full-time role in Community Paramedicine, which began in 2025.
Beyond her work in emergency medicine, Leza is passionate about swift water rescue and diving, actively serving on the Lake Monticello Water Rescue Team.
In her free time, she enjoys outdoor activities, scuba diving, and, most of all, spending time with her two senior rescue dogs and loved ones.
