Michelle was born and raised in south Florida in a small boating community. She moved to Virginia in 2010 with her husband and 2 daughters. She began her nursing career in 1997 as an LPN and became a registered nurse in 2000. In 2009, she became board certified as a Cardiac-Vascular RN.
Michelle started working at UVA Health in 2011 in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab. The majority of her career has been caring for cardiac patients throughout all phases of care, both in the invasive and non-invasive settings. When not working in Cardiology, she worked as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department. Michelle enjoys working one-on-one with patients to ensure they have all the resources they need to optimize their health. She is a member of the Preventive Cardiovascular Nurses Association.
Michelle monitors the vital signs board for the Population Health programs, and she contacts patients or their caregivers when appropriate. She also coordinates communication between patients and their providers as a means to ensure long-term success with patients after program completion.
Michelle and her family enjoy swimming, biking, and travelling.
