Cynthia holds a bachelor's degree in English from Mary Baldwin University and a Master of Science in Yoga Therapy from the Maryland University of Integrative Health. Her diverse professional background includes roles in behavioral health support, special education, information technology, technical writing, and community program promotion.

She joined UVA Health’s Population Health Department in 2016 as a wellness coach, guiding UVA team members in setting and achieving their annual health and wellness goals through the BeWell program. Now serving as a Population Health Specialist, Cynthia provides vital administrative support for departmental operations and initiatives, including WellAware, Community Paramedicine, and UVA Health Mobile Care.

In addition to her role at UVA Health, Cynthia is certified by the International Association of Yoga Therapists and holds the highest level of certification from the national Yoga Alliance. Since 1995, she has been teaching yoga and stress management strategies to individuals and groups. Currently, she is leading the department’s TeleMotion pilot program, which will offer remote exercise programs to UVA Health patients.
