Shana has been a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) since 2011. She began her nursing career in geriatric care. After five years in geriatrics, she shifted to a Federally Qualified Health Center as a Pediatric LPN where she gained experience in Pediatrics, Family Medicine and Women’s Health practices. It was during this time that she discovered her passion for helping patients with substance use disorders and became the Psychiatric and OBOT (Office Based Opioid Treatment) Care Coordinator. With this experience, Shana learned the importance of decreasing barriers to care and offering a patient-centered approach. She joined the Population Health Department in 2022.
Shana lives in the Lexington, Virginia area with her husband and three children. They enjoy taking family camping trips in a cozy pop-up camper and visiting local sites. Shana is a bookworm and can be found reading during any moments of free time she can find.
