PEGASUS AIR is an EC145e helicopter that is twin engine, single pilot IFR rated, and equipped with color weather radar. Pegasus utilizes night vision goggles for all flights conducted at night. The program's primary operational area is within a 120 NM radius of Charlottesville, VA. Pegasus shares a backup helicopter amongst several other medevac programs in the region, when the primary helicopter requires maintenance. |
PEGASUS GROUND is an ambulance specially designed for critical care transport. Pegasus crew members spend half of their shifts staffing this vehicle. It is built on a 2016 Freightliner M2 crew-cab chassis. It was built by Braun Ambulances Inc. It is based at the University Hospital in Charlottesville and has responded to interfacility, on scene, and mass-casualty incidents in both Virginia and West Virginia. |
